Now you can ski and ride WITH NO SNOW
The normal ski season typically lasts from Thanksgiving through, umm, July, leaving Denverites AN ENTIRE THREE-MONTH PERIOD without the joy of having tourists cut in front of you in the lift line getting sweet, sweet air. That all changes with the opening of Thornton's Progresh, a seriously tricked-out training center for skiers and snowboarders, here to give you a fix during the warm Summer months.
How do you shred indoors? By way of synthetic snow. It’s a material that simulates the feel of the white stuff as you shred. Just make sure to add lots of lube (!!!).
Whether you board or ski, Progresh is there to help you progress(h) your skills. They offer up a number of different classes, which are sure to help you become the next Flying Tomato in no time. Hopefully without the propensity to be a douchenozzle.
When you do jumps here, your landings will be more padded than they are in Springtime when there's no snowpack.
Cliff drops, kickers, rails, quarter pipes, ledges, mega ramps, trampolines, and huge bowls are just some of the features in Progresh’s massive facility -- there'll also likely be huge bowls in the parking lot, courtesy of the snowboarders.
By far the most exhilarating feature is the mega ramp that launches riders into a massive airbag known as the Bagjump. Fun fact: it's the only indoor Bagjump in the country.
For those who prefer boards with wheels on them, Progresh also houses a decked out skate park. For those that need no board, tumbling and hard-core parkour classes are also available -- perfect for those who need a fix of fresh stitches every few weeks.
