Shwood is Making Sunglasses Out of Old Louisville Slugger Bats

To celebrate opening day, Shwood Eyewear has announced a new line of special edition sunglasses made of repurposed Louisville Slugger bats. Each pair of shades was crafted in Portland, Oregon, from the old Kentucky classic, which was originally cut from upstate N.Y. ash. You'd be hard pressed to find a more American pair of shades.

The limited edition Select Collection features naked ash frames with the temples dipped in paint, just like some of the classic Louisville Slugger bats.

Each select edition of the shades comes with a leather case, a baseball-inspired pouch, half a bat, and a display box for the mantle.

While the Original Collection sunglasses don't feature the same paint-dipped detailing, they are flame-tempered in the exact same way as the American icon they came from.
